JERRY ROBERG

Founder & President

          Roberg was the former President/Founder of the Rescue Mission Alliance (RMA) based in Oxnard CA. He led the fledgling Oxnard Rescue Mission from a mom and pop ministry with an annual budget of $189,000, to an unparalleled flagship operation— with an annual budget of over $10 million anually, and assets of $22 million. While employed at RMA he started seven new fully functioning Rescue ministries:

  • Ventura County Rescue Mission
  • San Fernando Valley Rescue Mission
  • Lighthouse Women and Children's Mission
  • Valley Food Bank
  • Rescue SOS Meals on Wheels
  • Bargain Center Industries, i.e. 4-Thrift Store Operations
  • Angel Residence Transitional Housing
  • Mission Auto Donation Center 2- locations

Gifford Claiborne

Vice President

          Claiborne has served more than 100 Rescue Missions and scores of other Christian organizations with fundraising counsel, and strategy, while developing scores of new donor acquisition products, for over 40 years. He served as Sr. Vice President of Development at the Los Angeles Mission and helped them raise $23 million in building they’re new Mission and provided the strategy to increase the size of their active donor file... from 3500 to 385,000 in eight years.

          He served as Vice President and Group Director at the Russ Reid Company for five years. He also served for three years as Executive Director of the San Diego Rescue Mission.

          Claiborne serves currently as a consultant. He helped start the RMF. He also consults with other Rescue Mission clients; Bibles for the World; The Pocket Testament League; Gateways to Better Education; and a number of other start-up Christian organizations. He also serves in a pastoral position, and has started several churches
 

 

 

John Huffman

          Former Ex-Director of the Rescue Mission Foundations Inc. Co- Founder of the Tijuana Rescue Mission. John was the Founding Senior Pastor, of South Coast Fellowship (SCF) Church in Ventura California for 23 years. Under his leadership the congregation grew from 9 adults to over 3500 people in attendance.

          He started other extension ministries, while SCF was regularly touching over 10,000 people a week in Ventura County alone. Huffman’s entrepreneurial and creative gifting leant to an innovative and effective impact in the culture he reached here in the US, and abroad.

 

 

Bob Ray

RMF Board Member

          Bob enjoyed a twenty- seven year career in Banking, Real Estate Finance and Business Consulting. He has served as an Associate Pastor, Children’s, Youth and Adult Teacher, Director of Prison ministries and the Executive Director of Teaching for Image Ministries. Bob and his team run four organizations. His Ministers to Non Profit organizations teaching how to focus on growth and development.

          Director of: PIES LLC – A for profit business that focuses on the Leadership  Development needs of both Profit and Non Profit Organizations. President of: ICAN – The International Christian Achievers Network, a Non Profit Foundation whose mission is the Advancement of the Kingdom of God through the partnership of Business and Ministry.

Ken Craft

Advisory Board

          Ken is the Executive Director of The Valley Rescue Mission a new Rescue ministry in San Fernando Valley CA. He has spent the past 7 years serving the poor and homeless in the San Fernando Valley.

           Prior to launching the only emergency family shelter in the Valley, he spent 15 years in pastoral ministry and several years in the business working for Equifax, one of the nations credit bureaus. Whether it was pasturing a church of 5,000 or caring for homeless people on the streets, Ken demonstrates compassion, wisdom when it comes to addressing the issues that plaque our society

 

 

Charles (Chuck) Cameron, CSPG

Major Gifts & Planned Giving Consultant

          Chuck Cameron is a recognized major gifts officer and planned giving specialist who works with professional staff, board members and donors and their counsel to create gift arrangements that meet financial, estate planning, and philanthropic objectives.  He earned the CSPG designation (Certified Specialist in Planned Giving) from the American Institute of Philanthropic Studies at California State University at Long Beach and has strong experience to identify, cultivate, solicit and advise individuals interested in making major and planned gifts.  His service as a consultant and counselor to numerous individuals and families in helping them strategically plan their philanthropy has resulted in millions of dollars in gifts to agencies he has served.

          After completing his studies for a B.A. in Ministry at Pacific Christian College, Chuck was ordained as a Minister in the Christian Church and for a decade served as a pastor.  He then spent twenty years in the banking and business “for profit” sector serving in savings operation, mortgage lending, marketing and trust department management and has been a senior marketing manager for major business and office supply companies.  All during this time Chuck was deeply involved in serving on various nonprofit boards as a board member with an emphasis upon fundraising.  His training and time serving people from all walks of life developed within him sensitivity for confidentially and service, and his banking and business experience gave him an understanding of business and family finance laying a firm foundation for helping people make wise decisions when planning their philanthropy.

          Chuck’s experience as a fundraising professional includes being Executive Director and co-founder of a major food bank in Los Angeles, Senior Development Officer for Union Rescue Mission in Los Angeles where he lead in developing a marketing plan for major donor development and planned giving as well as Family Foundation Forums in collaboration with Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles, Pepperdine University and Northern Trust Bank.  He served as Vice President of Development for Children’s Network International in Los Angeles, a major disaster relief nonprofit agency, where he was responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive fundraising program

          Chuck is an active member of the National Committee on Planned Giving and Planned Giving Round Table of Southern California and the Association of Fundraising Professionals.  He is an active Rotarian having served as Chairman of Trustees for the Westchester Rotary Foundation and is currently President of the Northridge/Chatsworth Rotary Club.  He also serves as an Advisory Board member of Single Mothers Outreach in Santa Clarita, California.
