Grant Application Process
Grant proposals are evaluated in the context of the Foundation's mission,
priorities, interests and available resources. No electronic submissions are
accepted.
Please begin the application process by contacting the Rescue Mission
Foundation with a brief inquiry letter showing program intent and a copy of your
most recent IRS Form 990. The Foundation will notify you within 30 days if a
full proposal should be submitted.
If a full grant proposal is requested, the following information will be
required:
- An executive summary of your specific proposal
- The specific problem to be addressed, plan for its solution and constituency
it will serve
- Why your organization should undertake the proposed project and how it fits
with existing programs
- Results to be achieved and how they will be measured and monitored
- Why you believe your proposal is worthy of a grant and anything else material
to your request
- A brief description of your organization, staff, present programs, past major
accomplishments, and a list of officers and directors
- A full listing of corporate and foundation donors with their level of support
- Promotional brochures, catalogues or printed releases regarding your
organization and its programs
- Detailed financial information that includes:
• The specific amount of money requested and a projected budget for grant use
• Copies (audited, if available) of the organization's financial reports for the
past three years
• Per annum cost for administration and fundraising
• A copy of your most recent IRS Form 990 and IRS non-profit status
determination letter (dated after 1969).
Applications are accepted year-round, and considered at periodic meetings of
the Board of Directors. A site visit or interview may be scheduled by the
Foundation as part of the review process.
Requests must be made in writing. Electronic submissions, including faxes and
email, are not accepted.
Further inquiries concerning the grant-making process are welcome at any time
